Spring is a wonderful time. New foliage emerges. Sun and warmth lift the spirits, and right out on the coast, one of Skansegården’s nearest neighbours is building a new house at Dybbølstrand 2, 6400 Sønderborg.

Within the Dybbøl protected area, permission has been granted to demolish the previous building and construct a fantastic, beautiful new holiday home. The house lies near Gendarmstien, within the coastal protection line and beside the redoubt, which is in full view. Right here, amid the beautiful coastal landscape, Sønderborg Kommune has allowed the developer to build a modern property right at the water’s edge.

With large areas of glazing facing the sea, the property makes optimal use of its unique location. There is not much ‘1864’ about the new building, and it does not seem that Fredningsnævnet required Museum Sønderjylland’s expertise to be involved in this case as it did in Skansegården’s. Once again, the striking differences in the processes surrounding the two cases demonstrate that it certainly matters who submits an application to Sønderborg Kommune.

We readily admit that we wish we had had the same case officer on our case. At the same time, we note that neither the former mayoral candidate nor JydskeVestkysten has spent particularly much energy and time drawing attention to this building case. Whatever the circumstances, we warmly congratulate the owner on the building.

It will be incredibly beautiful.

Source title: Dybbølstrand 2, 6400 Sønderborg – Inden for Dybbøl-fredningen
