How information was selected
The guide draws on official visitor attractions, authorities, archives, specialist reference works and local-history sources. Source numbers in the text open the supporting document or page. All sources used are listed below.
History, plans and current conditions
Historical ownership details are not a current ownership register. A permission records a decision, not necessarily completed building work. A planned reopening can change. Prices and opening hours are a dated snapshot; current operator information applies.
Publisher and commercial content
This is a separate visitor and information guide to Dybbøl Banke, not the official website of the mill, History Centre or authorities. References to Hotel Sønderborg Kaserne are labelled product placement. Booking and payment take place through the hotel’s booking provider.

Area map and location
The interactive map loads only when you choose it. OpenStreetMap then receives your IP address and information about the map area displayed. The “You are here” function requires a separate click and permission from your phone. Your location is processed in your browser and is not saved on the website. When the map centres on you, OpenStreetMap receives information about the map area around your location. Google Maps opens only through a link; Google processes your visit under its own terms.
Images and rights
The photographs of the mill and Redoubt IV were taken by Hjart and shared through Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0. They have been resized. Photographer, original file and licence are shown beside each image. The guide’s text was written for this website; photographs and source texts have their own rights.
Data, cookies and statistics
Search and topic filters work in your browser. Google Analytics 4 is used only if you accept statistics cookies. You can reject statistics without losing access to the guide and change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of the page.
After you accept, measurement includes pages visited, time, browser, device, language, the referring website's domain and clicks on the hotel's booking link. A click does not count as a completed reservation. Search terms, form contents, passwords and URL parameters are not sent to Analytics. Advertising personalisation and Google Signals are disabled in this website's measurement.
Statistics are provided by Google Ireland Limited. Google may process data outside the EU/EEA. Your IP address is used for the connection and to estimate the geographical area; it is not stored as an IP address in Analytics. Google sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_… with a lifetime of up to 180 days. Your cookie choice is saved locally in this browser for up to 180 days. Analytics is configured to retain user and event data for two months; this setting does not apply to all aggregated reports. If you reject or withdraw consent, this website stops measurement and removes Analytics cookies from this domain.

A complete examination of every archival case, land parcel and personal story requires further work; this site does not claim to reproduce every document about Dybbøl.
