Start with SDU and Alsion

SDU, the University of Southern Denmark, provides a campus guide that brings together information about facilities, the library and help on campus. Save the official campus guide if you have just arrived in Sønderborg. [S120]

An after-class break

Take a short walk beside the sound or explore Sønderborg town and harbour. Choose one place at a time: a bridge, an old street or a viewpoint. This is an easy way to invite a new classmate along without planning a full day out.

With more time, use the Dybbøl Banke map to explore the hills. Choose a walk for the daylight, weather, surfaces and energy you have. A weekend of views and history

Keep the programme simple: the landscape around Dybbøl Mill, a few redoubts and memorials, then a break in town. Read the map's stories together and discuss how people from different countries experience this history.

Walking on the area's public paths does not require a museum ticket. The mill exhibition and History Centre activities have their own tickets and visiting arrangements; check the official prices. [S125]
