Demolition permit for a building worthy of preservation from 1900 This solid-looking single-family home on the corner of Brillevej and Benediktesvej in Egernsund was built in 1900. The building has exposed yellow brickwork with a red-brick plinth and modest detailing. Its form is compact, and the symmetrically composed street facade remains intact, although with single-pane windows and a door from the 1990s that do not suit the original architectural style.
Sønderborg Kommune considers: “that demolition of this particular property would weaken neither the settlement pattern nor the impression of the area as a whole, since the immediate area's original structure has been dissolved by the detached-house developments of the 1970s and 1980s, which dominate. Furthermore, the building is not a remarkable representative of its stylistic period. On that basis, our assessment is that the building may be demolished as applied for.” None of the familiar trio, Venstre, Dansk Folkeparti and JydskeVestkysten, who fought against the demolition of the dilapidated Skansegården property, has taken an interest in the case.

Text version dated 15 Dec 2020
